The truth about the woman who 'haunts' Malet Lambert
Many of us as children would often tell or hear of spooky tales and ghostly stories that would give us and our friends the jitters.

A common setting for these stories are within the very classrooms we sat in and the hallways we wandered as kids.

Spooky school stories are part and parcel of growing up and almost every former student will recall hearing that their school was haunted.

Especially if that said school is decades old with a dark ageing structure that gives it a haunting look that will frighten most kids from day one.

This is the case for one east Hull school, where students have passed on the tale of a ghost that can be seen standing in the bell tower from which she fell to her death.

Malet Lambert School in James Reckitt Avenue was first built in 1932.

For many years, students have heard the tale of a woman who tragically fell to her death from the building's Gothic-looking bell tower.

However, there is no record of this tragedy ever taking place and variations of this story have been conjured up over the years.
